The Group of Seven (G7) summit is holding in the UK from June 11 to 13, 2021.  They are to set up common preferences on climate change.

In fact, since 2016, G7’s environmental ministers have promised to eliminate billions of dollars fossil fuel aids by 2025. Yet, not much funds have been cut since then. It doesn’t match their commitments to human rights.

However, on June 7, Human Rights Watch issued a Q&A document. G7 did not follow up relevant actions. They should take specific actions to eliminate fossil fuel aids.  For example, they should stop any new international public finance for fuel projects.

In addition, G7 are suggested to gradually get rid of adding related mechanism.  The dollars saved can be used in enhancing lives standard to better human rights.
