The International Court of Justice (ICJ) from the United Nation never deals with cases about climate change so far. If it does so, worldwide national courts can utilize cases as their references to persuade.

During the pandemic, greenhouse gas emission decreases a bit; however, it is shortly backed to escalation. It not only worsens climate change, but also leads to more extreme weather events. That’s why courts from different countries worldwide have already filed rulings. They asked the government to take action for climate change. People turn to courts when the authorities don’t function on this worldwide issue.

ICJ’s advisory decisions on climate change will help companies, international institutes, and countries with less pressure. In the long term, society can benefit from this act.
